Holiday Florals I’m Loving This Season (And the Cozy Touches I’m Adding at Home)

A personal, seasonal guide to the most beautiful holiday floral trends.

ree

As soon as November arrives, my mind shifts fully into holiday mode. The days get shorter, the lights feel warmer, and I always find myself craving a home filled with greenery, soft candlelight, and all the cozy little touches that make this season feel magical.

Before my tree even goes up, I’m already picking up bundles of fresh winter greens. There’s nothing like the smell of cedar or Fraser fir drifting through the house — it instantly feels like Christmas. Over the years, both as a florist and someone who just loves creating beauty at home, I’ve realized that you don’t need elaborate arrangements to make your space feel festive. A few thoughtful pieces can completely transform a room.

So today, I’m sharing the holiday florals and décor trends I’m loving this season — the same ones I’m using in my own home. Whether you’re planning your Christmas décor, hosting a holiday dinner, or just want to add a little seasonal charm, these ideas are simple, beautiful, and perfect for 2024/2025.

1. Winter Greenery: The Heart of Every Holiday Home

Greenery is always the first thing I reach for — and it’s the most powerful way to bring the holidays inside.

My top picks for the season:

  • Cedar (soft, drapey, magical)

  • Fraser fir (classic, long-lasting, incredible scent)

  • Pine (a beautiful natural shape)

  • Magnolia branches (the green + copper underside is stunning)

Even a simple vase with magnolia stems or a bundle of cedar on the kitchen counter can completely change the feeling of a room. It’s fresh, classic, and incredibly cozy.

2. Cozy Whites, Greens & Golds ( Quiet Luxury for the Holidays )

This year, I’ve been loving a minimalist, airy palette:

  • white roses

  • soft winter greenery

  • dried pieces (like bleached ruscus or grasses)

  • gold accents

It feels peaceful and elegant — perfect for anyone who likes a clean, modern holiday look.

Pairing winter greenery with soft whites has become one of my go-to styles, especially with a few gold taper candles nearby. It’s simple but has that beautiful, “effortless” feeling.

3. Classic Reds (Just a Touch!)

Even as someone who loves neutrals, I can never resist adding a pop of red during the holidays.

Think:

  • red berries

  • a few red blooms in a vase

  • red bows on the tree (my fav right now!)

It brings in that nostalgic, traditional Christmas warmth without overwhelming your space.

4. Dried Florals for Texture & Warmth

Mixing dried and fresh flowers gives arrangements such a pretty, layered look. This year I’ve been loving:

  • pinecones

  • dried hydrangeas in the tree

  • pods and seed heads

  • textured grasses

  • dried oranges (adorable and so festive!)

They last forever, add interest, and feel very modern-holiday.

5. Candlelight + Florals = Instant Holiday Magic

Holiday florals always look better with candles — always.

If you want your home to feel instantly warm and inviting, try:

  • floating candles in cylinders

  • votives mixed with greenery

  • gold taper candles down the table

  • candle bowls for soft, ambient light

The glow brings everything to life, especially in the long winter evenings.

6. A Simple DIY Holiday Arrangement (Florist-Approved!)

You don’t need a full design setup to make something beautiful.

Here’s an easy recipe you can try at home:

You’ll need:

  • 1–2 types of greenery (cedar + fir)

  • 3–5 white or red blooms

  • berries, pinecones, or dried orange slices

Layer your greenery first, add your blooms, then finish with your texture.

Keep it low and full — that’s the secret to making it look professional.

Why Holiday Florals Matter to Me

Maybe it’s the nature of this season, or maybe it’s because flowers are such a big part of my life, but holiday florals always bring me a kind of joy I can’t really explain.

They make my home feel warm.

They remind me to slow down.

They add beauty to the everyday moments — even just walking through the kitchen.

And this year, I’m leaning into anything that brings that feeling of peace and softness into my home.

If you try any of these ideas — even if it’s just a small vase of cedar — I hope it brings that same warmth into your space.
